The most common sequence of events for hermetically sealing packages at Litron includes:

  • 24hr Vacuum bake at 125°C
  • Laser Welding
  • Fine Leak Testing (Leak Rate requirements typically in the 1×10-6 cc/sec He  1×10-9 cc/sec He range)
  • Fluorocarbon Gross Leak Test (Commonly referred to as the “Bubble Test”)

NB: Pressurization (bombing) is typically not necessary at this stage as Litron uses a controlled atmosphere of 80% inert (either N2 or Ar) and 20% He tracer within the glovebox welding stations.
