Setting the Pace in the Laser Services Market
Litron Expands Both Capitol Equipment and Personnel
Litron has been aggressively acquiring machines and lasers, as well as bringing on new talent to keep pace with their growing client base and production requirements. “We’re willing to do what it takes, and make the necessary investments to meet the needs of our clients, and offer value added solutions.” says Mark Plasse, President of Litron. “Whether that means hiring new personnel, adding on new equipment, or expanding our facilities, we’ll do what’s needed in order to grow with our customers.”
New Milling Machine for Electronic Package Fabrication
The Electronic Package Fabrication department at Litron has invested in a new Haas 5 axis vertical machining center to keep pace with customer demands. “With the addition of this machine, we’ll be able to significantly reduce setup times, and increase machining productivity” says John Griffin, head of Electronic Packaging. “Our customers will see shorter lead times, shorter concept to realization on first part runs, and increased efficiency in overall machining”.
A 5-axis Haas machine tool has the ability to hold two separate parts on a 5-axis platter, which allows for the machining of 5 sides of each part in one operation. Additionally, that same machine can hold two or more parts next to the 5-axis platter to perform traditional 3-axis machining. “We’re extremely excited about this new equipment, and are confident that our customers will quickly see the benefits” says Chris Stefaniak, Process Engineer for Electronic Packaging.
“These two lasers give us the ability to dedicate one whole system to prototyping, while using the other to reduce turn-around time.” Along with increased production the 62P Laser also gives Litron the ability to be more diverse, specifically when it comes to their medical clientele. “The 62P Laser allows us to go down to a .006” spot size, which is ideal for the intricate laser welding of medical devices” says Mike.
A Growing Workforce
As with most companies, Litron knows the value of having a talented and dedicated workforce. They’ve brought on new hires from across the Massachusetts and Connecticut area for positions throughout the organization. “We’re always looking for talented people who are ready to join a company that is poised to grow at an aggressive rate, while keeping quality and customers needs at the forefront” says Mark Plasse.
