Litron Inc has developed a state-of-the-art laser tube cutting process, to more efficiently and effectively fabricate tubing devices for Laparoscopic and other medical applications. With our 24/7 lights out operation, we can produce devices every thirty seconds while maintaining the same precision and quality from the first piece to the last.
Machine Stamping A traditional machine stamped tube first needs to have the length qualified for each device. Then the stamping process can require several steps such as changing tooling, turning and aligning of the part and possibly utilizing multiple machines. Each step requires human intervention and the possibility for human error and costly re-stamping.
Litron's Advanced Laser Cutting With laser tube cutting, we take a fourteen foot section of tube and, in a single piece flow, fabricate an entire device without the need for human intervention. The laser tube cutting machine is programmed with the exact dimensions and specifications for that device run. Once programmed and the machine is setup, the process does not stop until the last device comes off the line
Litron has seen as much as a 50% reduction in the final cost of a tube by utilizing the laser cutting process. With the increased speed of having a finished part every thirty seconds, and the limited labor costs involved, we can produce a device at a much lower cost then machine stamping. Even when some stamping is necessary, laser tube cutting the rest of the component is more cost effective approach to take.
