Increased Laser Welding and Cutting Capabilities
Litron Inc. brings on a Fiber Laser for increased efficiency
At its core, Litron is a laser services provider for the Medical, Aerospace and Industrial markets. Ensuring that core remains intact means investing in the ever improving laser technology available today. “Laser services are what this company was founded on and what has helped us to grow in so many directions” says Mark Plasse, President of Litron Inc. “We plan to continue growing upon that base, and this laser is exactly what we needed to do that”.
Getting Down to the Fine Detail
The newest laser to be added at Litron is the TRUMPF TruFiber 200. This small yet powerful laser will allow them increased welding and cutting capabilities to improve processes and decrease project cycle times.
“This laser is ideal for laser cutting thin wall medical tubing as well as welding of tight tolerance parts that are sensitive to heat” says Mike Chmura, Laser Services Manager. “Every time we bring on another laser it’s exciting, but this laser really broadens our capabilities”.
The Right Tool for the Job
When it comes to medical devices and components, smaller is always the goal. With a heavy focus on the medical device and component industry, Litron’s decision to add the TruFiber was a no-brainer.
“This laser will give us an advantage when it comes to welding and cutting medical implants and medical tube components. Our customers are constantly pushing the boundaries on how thin and how small they can go, and we need to be able to rise to the occasion; now we can” says Chmura. “We’ll be able to hit welding spot sizes that were unthinkable before and cut at speeds much higher than our previous processes”.
